The Dancing Dragonby *bluessence

Some of you might recall a pencil sketch commission I did a few years ago of a dragon and priestess.. I've received many of comments on that picture asking if I was ever going to color it. Long story short was no.. since it was a commission and it's almost 4 years old now.

But because of all the wonderful comments I was inspired to create my own version, with a new character, which was inspired by a story my sister was writing. So the girl became an Air Pirate and the Dragon got a few limbs...

but overall I'm happy with the stylized composition, and feel satisifed with my recreation of an overly used combo, girls and dragons, what more could you ask for?

I am SO glad your sister sent me a link to your art: this piece is amazing. Why, why, why can't writers draw!!!

But then again, it's kind of an advantage: writers get inspired by artists, artists get inspired by writers. Quid for quo (or however that line goes).
